NOTES AND LIMITATIONS
Important: This routine is on pre-beta issue
use only as a training aid until formal issue
This routine (RoadLite) is intended for use in designing lighting on roadways and pedestrian walkways to allow approximate quantifying of the number of, height of and position of a selected lantern required to satisfy a specification along a uniform straight section of roadway or walkway.
The final design may still require a more accurate assessment, to accommodate any non-uniformity along the whole project route.
The routine supports most popular lantern test results supplied as xxx.ies files.
The routine provides for lanterns to be spaced at a sufficient distances such that each lantern's longitudinal output ends at the second distant column.
This routine has been developed for roadway and pathway situations. Subject to competent interpretation, the routine can be useful in determining the resultant horizontal lumen values for any lighting installation.
This routine is available for "free to air" use by anyone.
As this routine requires extensive data input, use of a desktop PC is recommended. The routine has been developed and extensively tested on Mozilla Firefox. All other popular browsers appear to operate satisfactorily.
A PDF output will be made available as a future construction.
